7.TRUST THEM

“Trust men, and they will be true to you,” wrote Emerson. “Trust them greatly, and they will show themselves great.”

Doubt them, and they start doubting themselves. And nothing breeds failure like doubt.

Indeed, when they learn that you trust them to do a job they themselves might not think they are capable of doing, it will help them think that they are capable of doing it. It will help them raise their self-images; and from that moment on, they will start performing at a new, higher level.

Of course this does not mean that you should hand them a job and then walk away. You must monitor their progress regularly.
