Asking for help is as sure a way of making friends as lending money is of losing them.

And it’s a lot more fun to work with friends than with non-friends.

Just as important, you compliment people, as John O’Toole complimented Glenn, when you ask them to help you. You say to them that you value their judgments and their opinions.

More, you help them raise their self-images, for you are saying that you think that they are capable of making the kinds of decisions, doing the kinds of work, and handling the kinds of problems that your job requires.
