EXPECTATIONS OF A LEADER

There is great richness and importance in keeping the bar high and in letting high expectations, for rigor and for results, permeate all team activities. Define and pursue those principles of excellence you believe in and that you can uphold with vigor. If specific principles and behaviors are not clearly defined, the concept of excellence will stay as a backdrop rather than permeating every day and every activity. At my first communications meeting with my groups, they consistently heard me articulate that I expected of each one of them:
