INTERDEPENDENCE

Put a roomful of bright, driven, and creative characters together, throw in a good measure of freedom, turn on the music, and what you will have is a group of independent prima donnas dancing around each other. Or so is the vision—the nightmare actually—that often pushes hard-driving managers to resort to boxing-in behaviors. Creative minds are fertile and often supple and responsive. And so the concept of interdependence, though initially counter to their notion of independence—which they deeply cherish and protect at all costs—and closer to that of dependence—which they abhor—can and will be followed as we guide them to honor and develop it.
