Backup/Restore Commands

A pair of simple utilities allows you to back up your configuration to a file and to restore it from that file at a later time. They are not meant as migration tools, nor as a replacement for removeNode. Instead, they should be used as part of a fail-safe strategy in case unforeseen incidents occur.

Backing Up Your Configuration

The backupConfig command takes a snapshot of the contents of your config directory and stores it as a zip file. To ensure that config documents are not changed during a backup, all servers are stopped before the backup is made; this can be disabled with the -nostop option.
