Process Model Integration

The process model for WebSphere on z/OS is a multiprocess federation, consisting of one control process and one or more servant processes. The control process executes only authorized WebSphere systems. Its purpose is to host communication end points, provide authentication point of control, and serve as the registration point for recoverable resources. The servant processes contain the WebSphere system components that support the J2EE programming model and host J2EE applications. Figure A.1 illustrates this process model.
