We rarely get to write software from scratch. Most software projects continue development of an existing code base. Data grids are relatively new middleware, and our projects probably don't have an immediate migration path to using one. If we are to introduce a data grid into these existing projects, then we need somehow to work WebSphere eXtreme Scale into the existing architecture. In this chapter, we'll go over a sample project which was initially written without thought of a data grid. Think of the previous chapters as reference, where you can find a quick recipe for performing a task with WebSphere eXtreme Scale. This chapter shows how we might apply those recipes.
