Chapter 15. Advanced Considerations for Build

In Part II of this book, we illustrated how WebSphere Application Server (WAS) supports different aspects of J2EE technology. In the process, where applicable, we deployed the Personal Trade System using the build and deployment process illustrated in Chapter 4, “Build and Deploy Procedures.” We are now going to spend a bit of time discussing several issues related to the packaging of J2EE applications. This is important because packaging issues are often overlooked and can lead to subtle problems late in the development cycle. We'll then wrap up by briefly discussing a seemingly simple yet quite helpful enhancement to the development process known as a verification workspace.
