Conclusion

In this chapter, we discussed how WebSphere Application Server supports J2EE transactions. We discussed how the WAS Transaction Manager supports both local and distributed transactions. We also discussed the J2EE transaction model and how WAS uses JTA and JTS. We then talked about some of the features of the WAS Transaction Manager. Finally, we discussed transaction recovery and optimization techniques. In the next chapter, we will focus on our next resource, JMS.
