Conclusion

In this chapter, EJB technology was introduced. We went over some programming model basics and learned about the various deployment descriptors. We examined the structure of an EJB JAR using the ASTK, and we deployed the EJB application using the administrative console. In the next chapter, we will focus on Container Managed Persistence (CMP) and some advanced EJB settings. Furthermore, we will deploy a much bigger EJB application by incorporating many of the other use cases of the Personal Trade System. Rather than using the administrative console, we will use our automated build process to accomplish the same tasks.
