The WebSphere “Umbrella”
The IBM WebSphere brand encompasses a variety of products, from those focused on e-business applications to integration and portals. In fact, the WebSphere brand has become an “umbrella” for many different IBM products. IBM describes WebSphere as Internet infrastructure software, or middleware, that enables companies to develop, deploy, and integrate next-generation e-business applications. WebSphere supports business applications from simple Web publishing through enterprise-scale transaction processing.
