Chapter 9. Test

In the Rational Unified Process, the Test discipline provides guidance on evaluating the quality of the product. This evaluation is realized by finding and documenting defects in software quality, advising on the perceived software quality, validating and proving the assumptions made in the design and requirement specification through concrete demonstration, validating that the software product operates as expected and specified, and validating that requirements are implemented properly. This chapter discusses the activities that are performed when testing software that is built following the Rational Unified Process methodology and built in an iterative and incremental manner.
