Chapter 8. System backup, restores, and availability
There are various commands you can use to make backups of systems. The following is a list of the most common commands for backups. A short description of each is given here with a list of their respective flags in Table 8-1 on page 214.
| tar | The tar command manipulates archives by writing files to, or retrieving files from, an archive storage medium. The files used by the tar command are represented by the File parameter. If the File parameter refers to a directory, then that directory and, recursively, all files and directories within it are referenced as well. |
