6.9. Assist the project management team to ensure successful implementation

Once the proposal has been accepted and the project is turned over to a project manager you might think that the responsibility of the solution designer has ended. This is often not the case, as the solution designer’s skills are needed from time-to-time during the implementation phase of the project.

The solution designer should assist the project management team to:

  • Establish rough estimates of the time and resources (people and technology) required.

  • Highlight the potential risk to the project introduced by design factors.

  • Assist with establishing acceptance criteria and project endpoint.
