5.1. Understand current business policy
When starting a new e-business design, your plan must includes client goals and their immediate and long-term business objectives. By understanding their current business policy and processes, you can integrate what they are doing now with a more technologically advanced plan for e-business. This allows for the design of robust technological solutions that can be used now, but can also be used later to accommodate the future needs of the client.
To fully understand the current business policy, focus on a few key business processes in the beginning and look for opportunities that may exist to:
