Chapter 6. Virtual cubes
Virtual cubes can be used to drastically improve the response time of the cube server queries
by using efficient data partitioning for optimum cache utilization. Virtual cubes offer a solution
for combining results by merging different regional cubes into a country cube. They also
enable merging sales numbers with currency exchange rates to provide a global view of the
business. This chapter explains how to create virtual cubes, how they work, and how to
manage them.
