AFTER THE GLOOMY, old-fashioned offices of Tozer, Kemsley and Milbourn in Fenchurch Street, entering Gillette’s airy British headquarters felt like stepping into another era. The factories built along the ‘Golden Mile’ on the Great West Road symbolised the industrial success of Britain in the first half of the twentieth century.
