Objects are defined by their dimensions, a fact Milton Glaser, the maestro of American graphic design, took advantage of with the design of the LP sleeve for the 1969 LP, Lightnin’!
The work is illustrated in his classic monograph Milton Glaser: Graphic Design as an example of “dealing with two sides of a surface.” Printed in monochrome, the front and back are shown on sequential pages of the book, the turning of the page mimicking the effect of rotating the actual album.
