Hans, the director of a technology team for a large investment bank, was fighting with Linda, a banker who was also his internal client. “She is constantly pushing me on deadlines,” he said. “If I tell her a project will take two months, Linda says she needs it in one month. If I tell her it will take a month, she says she needs it in two weeks. Keeping Linda happy is a big part of my job, but no matter what I say or do, she is never satisfied.”
