Diagnostic Fracture Injection Test
Abstract
The chapter starts with a typical diagnostic fracture injection test (DFIT) procedure and DFIT data recording and reporting. Next, before-closure analysis, including discussions on square root plot, log–log plot, G-function analysis, and different fluid leak-off on G-function plot, is explained. This chapter continues with after-closure analysis that includes detailed discussions on Horner plot, linear flow-time function versus bottom-hole pressure, and radial flow-time function versus bottom-hole pressure. Each subsection includes real-field examples that provide good understanding of the whole process.
