arrow Managing workloads in a hybrid cloud

O ne of the most important tasks required to manage a hybrid cloud environment is to manage a set of workloads that executes a specific set of commands. This is different than a traditional computing platform where it’s assumed that workloads will be executed either on-premises or in a specific remote environment.

In cloud computing environments, workloads are abstracted from their physical implementation. Therefore, managing cloud workloads requires a different approach than companies may be accustomed to in a traditional environment. In this chapter, we discuss the characteristics of workloads in the hybrid cloud world and the ramifications of managing this environment.
