Introduction

This chapter is concerned with the development of small and medium size businesses in smaller cities in China. Although many people when they think of industry and commerce in China think of Shanghai and related cities, many smaller cities in other areas of China are also experiencing strong growth, with the potential to grow further as resources become available.
