Introduction

This chapter examines the problems of a furniture exporting company located in Ningbo, a major shipping port near Shanghai. Along with many other companies in the eastern part of China, there are problems in finding suitably qualified staff to work in the organisation. Staff, when hired, can be difficult to train, or they do not wish to take responsibility for their work.
