Preselection Process

A common mistake among health care line managers in conducting their first interviews is to jump into the process without preparation. Frequently this happens because a new manager is immediately presented with a department that has several openings and a short time in which to fill them. Consequently, the new manager may review résumés without any forethought as to the type of individual needed or the long-range consequences of the selection decision.
