Selecting a Tool for Creating Web Pages

There are two broad types of tools for creating Web pages:

  • Editors. Programs in which you create plain text files and manually enter the code for each HTML tag, such as Notepad.

    Editors.
  • Converters. Programs in which you create formatted documents and then allow a built-in converter to create the HTML tags for you, such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft FrontPage.

    Converters.
