Location Considerations

The automated home has three essential components located in many places identified in the physical components section. They are keypads, relays, and solenoids. You will need to be prepared to identify the location within each assembly as well as know the functions performed by each automated system covered earlier.

Keypads

Keypads are used as the control interface for lifts, fireplace igniters, automated fans, and various skylight designs. Keypads are either permanently mounted in wall outlet boxes or included with wireless remote control units.
