The most important standard you will need to know about when preparing for the Infrastructure and Integration examination is ANSI/TIA/EIA 570A and its three addendums. It sets guidelines for residential single-family and multifamily telecommunications equipment and wiring. Among other aspects, the standard covers specifications for the network interface and demarcation point, auxiliary disconnects, a distribution device and cross-connects, cables and cable installation, outlets and connectors, and equipment cords.
