Residential Systems objective 2.3 states that the test taker should have knowledge of A/V device connectivity concerns. These concerns include such items as follows:

  • Component

  • Composite

  • S-video

  • Analog audio

  • Digital audio

  • Low-voltage power lines

  • Termination points

Video Signal Formats

Video connections on the rear panel of video consumer electronic devices are configured with different jacks to provide options for connecting television receivers, DVDs, VCRs, PC monitors, laser disc players, and camcorders.
