Configuration and Settings of Audio/Video Components

Residential Systems objective 2.4 states that the test taker should have knowledge of residential audio and video systems configuration. Examples of A/V items that HTI+ technicians should be able to configure include

  • Volume settings

  • Distribution channels

  • Equalization

  • Internal broadcasting

Volume Settings

Volume settings for audio programs in a whole-home system can be configured for speakers located in different zones. Wall-mounted volume controls and remote keypads can be used for each zone to set the volume for personal listening choices in each area. Home theater volume settings can be set for the surround sound speakers to fit the room acoustics.
