Standards

HTI+ Residential Subsystems objective 1.8 states that the test taker should have knowledge of the standards associated with residential subsystems and networking. These standards include topics such as

  • Wiring standards

  • Protocol standards

  • Standards and organizations, including

    • National Electrical Code

    • EIA/TIA standards

    • IEEE standards

    • Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL)

The HTI+ objectives for each domain chapter include the same standards organizations, although they all do not apply in each case. The standards applicable to each chapter are described where appropriate.
