Equipment Location Considerations

The HTI+ Residential Systems objective 1.2 states that the test taker should have knowledge of equipment location considerations associated with residential networking. Examples of these considerations include

  • Network equipment, including hardware and software such as the following:

    • Network interface cards

    • Servers (types and uses)

    • Printers

    • Gateways

    • Routers

    • Switches

    • Wireless access points

    • Firewalls

  • Network equipment components, including the following:

    • Data ports

    • Jack types
