Step 11: Implement Measurement Plan
Follow your operational data gathering plan and begin measuring. Key to your success will be communicating results. If the plan calls for quarterly reporting, take the time to ensure that you publicize the first few quarterly plans well. This means communicating to the HPI staff, HPI management, and business unit management.
If the HPI is not meeting its goals, report both the measures and actions the HPI staff is taking to improve its performance. For example, you have the goal to reduce external HPI vendor costs by 15 percent through contract consolidation and volume buying.
