Thinking Baseball

I had been in the baseball business a couple of years (though still before the Arizona Diamondbacks had taken the field for the first time), when the Rocky Mountain News asked Bowie Kuhn and me to each write a column answering the question, Is corporate ownership good for baseball? Bowie, the commissioner of Major League Baseball from 1969 to 1984, supported the negative position, while I championed the affirmative.
