A Business Process Architecture is typically defined for an Organization-in-Focus (OIF) - the entire organization at the corporate-level, or a business unit, or a specific functional area such as finance or marketing and sales. Ideally, the Process Architecture should be defined at the enterprise-level. Sometimes that is not practical or cost effective due to lack of management support, so functional-level Process Architecture may be defined with the intent of retrofitting it into an organizational Process Architecture at a later date. I will be interchanging the terms Business Process Architecture and the Business Process Blueprint.
