Action plan

At the end of the day managers must not only understand motivation in a general sense, they must approach it actively and systematically to create influences that constantly test, modify and enhance the prevailing motivational climate. They must also look ahead, and anticipate any factors that may influence things, so that they can plan responses in advance rather than as a response to the actual event.

Any action must be precise, well chosen and implemented, and right for the people on the receiving end, as it were. Before looking at how to be sure action does occur, we will examine making it appropriate on an individual basis.
