Traditional techniques of proactive job hunting

  • Identify potential employers and write to a named person – not the personnel manager (unless you’re looking for a personnel job), but the person running the department.
  • In addition to your internet research you can identify potential employers by taking a trip to your local library and doing some book research. There are literally dozens of directories.
