Notifying Employees

For a meeting to be successful, employees should be made aware of it in advance. In addition to being told when and where a meeting is to occur, they should also be told the objective of the meeting. This can be accomplished by memo, e-mail, or explained at a general meeting of all employees about the survey results.

If such supervisor-led meetings are typical, you will need relatively little advance explanation, but if this is an unusual occurrence in the company, the employees will need more detail. The important point is to make them fully aware of the meeting's purpose so they can prepare. This will lead to more effective communication.
