Your Responsibility

Whatever you decide, you should always be in control of all the aspects of the survey. Even if an external firm is contracted to do the entire project, you should approve the dimensions and instrument and describe the report format.

This book has continually stressed the need to clearly identify your objective and your planned use of the survey information. That is your responsibility. An external firm can assist you, but the objective has to be yours. You should not adjust your needs to meet those of an external firm. It is the external firm that is accountable for meeting the needs of your company.
