Describing Your Purposes

You have already determined the overall objective for your survey and examined some purposes for which the survey results can be used.

Beneath the Information Purposes section of the survey planning form, record the purposes for which you will be using the information obtained from your survey. Again, write each in one sentence beginning with the word To, and write them in descending order of importance; that is, write the most important purpose first, the next most important purpose second, and so on until you have listed all your purposes.

If you have more than eight purposes listed, you may want to review them to determine:

Is each too detailed, limited, or specific?

Is it possible to combine two or more?
