COMMUNICATION FEEDBACK

The self-assessment found in Exhibit 4-2, Chapter 4, and the interpretations that followed it, gave you a chance to evaluate the way you communicate. It did not, however, tell you how other people think you communicate—if they think you dominate your team or withdraw from it, or if they think you participate collaboratively and encourage others to do likewise.

To ask others how you communicate takes a great deal of courage or self-confidence, and you must be willing to find out what they think and to take it seriously. If you want to do this, ask your team to complete this exercise (Exhibit A3–1), turning in their responses anonymously and discussing the statistical results with you later. The interpretations ...
