Chapter 9. MASTER YOUR MEETINGS

To be blunt, if you want to find a way of wasting time at work or anywhere else for that matter, have a meeting!

Have you ever been to a meeting, particularly an internal company one, where you left feeling uplifted and excited, like you had really achieved something useful and this was a great use of your time?

I have, but not often. I have spent many frustrating hours sitting in various business, corporate, social and charitable meetings and committees that have been an utter waste of time. I struggle to think of more than a few that have been necessary and totally constructive. There seems to be a culture in many organizations of simply holding meetings as a substitute for actually getting on with the job!
