Remember the bit at the very front of the book—I know it’s ages ago—about “thinking styles” and how the test of first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in your mind at the same time? Well, let’s test that now. SMARTS goals are rubbish and don’t work. Actually, I’m being a bit extreme with that statement, but I just wanted to wake you up. What I’ve found is that for some people SMARTS are the absolute, ideal way to go about setting their goals. The process appeals to the logical part of their brain.
