A Day in the Life

The sales person’s day generally starts at around the same time as the trader’s, around 6:30 a.m., and commences with the morning meeting. This is not significantly different from the morning meeting for the traders and they are often done together. While a recap of the previous day’s client business might be discussed, including any post-mortems of client trades lost, from the sales person’s perspective, the crux of this meeting is about financial market color for the day. What is the story that sales people are telling to their clients today? This story can come from a number of different people within the bank.
