Troubleshooting Tips

Now, you can associate a wireless client to SSID firewall, Channel 11 (or whatever you set the SSID and channel to), and point a web browser to http://192.168.1.254 to see the status screen. (Make sure you assign an IP address in the 192.168.1.x range to your wireless client.)

If you have any problems, the first place to search for answers is in the log files. Look in /var/log using these commands from the shell:

cd /var/log

ls –la

cat <<filename>> | more

For example: cat messages | more

Also, if you are having problems with DNS resolution, remember to define your DNS server on your wireless clients as 192.168.1.254.
