Rendering

This chapter includes hints on using Mantra (Houdini’s own renderer), as well as RenderMan and Mental Ray. There are also nifty tips related to creating and using shaders. Houdini 9 has new rendering support for Physically Based Rendering (PBR), as well as volume rendering and improved motion blur. In addition, it has become very easy to add custom support for new renderers and lighting models. All in all, it’s an exciting leap forward.
