Chapter 20. Video Surveillance

Earlier in this book, we mentioned that the network capacity (or bandwidth) within your home network was much greater (three times or more) than the fastest upload/download speeds you will get from your high-speed connection to the Internet. So why does all this excess capacity exist on your home network? There are actually many in-home applications that require more bandwidth; we discuss many of them in this chapter (and a few more in the following chapters).
