Chapter Ten
Moving From Networking to Interviews and Job Offers
Sometimes people say that they are “networking for a job.” I understand what they mean, but no one really networks for a job. You network to get the message out. You network to gather information. Networking is a great way to meet some new people, including Decision Makers. It’s networking that gets you to the right place at the right time with the right information.
Then you’re close. You’re in the endgame. It’s a time when you need to go beyond networking You have just a few more things to do in order to convert the opportunities you locate by networking into an actual job. The first of these is persistent follow-up with the Decision Maker.
