Insiders: Motivated by Profit and Revenge

There are quite a few cases of insider hackers exacting revenge on their victims. These hackers, generally disgruntled employees or contractors, feel that they are entitled to perform these hacks, such as the Mr. Lloyd case described in an earlier section. Note that the hackers intent on revenge usually are either recently fired from their job, or feel that they didn't get the appropriate raise or promotion.

The typical target for these hackers is the production systems of the company, which are relied upon for corporate existence.
