Brian, a friend of mine, who is a police officer for a jurisdiction in the East Coast, was leisurely driving around when he was stopped by the police and informed that there was a warrant for his arrest out in Arizona. This came as a complete surprise to him, especially since he had not been to the Grand Canyon for a while. Unlucky for him, his soon-to-be arresting officer had run his license plate and discovered that the car's owner was wanted. Concluding that the driver and the owner were one and the same is why the officer stopped the car in the first place.
