HD, Film, and Digital Intermediates

High definition has been used as a production medium for more than a few major feature films and its use is growing rapidly. The digital intermediate (DI) process, once used only for high profile, high budget films, has been used by all levels of productions from HD film presentations to medium budget features to Hollywood summer blockbusters.

Two Star Wars movies were shot on high definition; however, most of the images in those films were created in a computer.
